What do event staffing firms track to measure the state of their business? How do they evaluate overall business health? Sure, we all know gross margin and customer satisfaction are critical, but there are a lot of other powerful metrics that are important indicator’s of a business’s profitability and overall future.
We wanted to know what metrics staffing companies found most important to their business, so we sent out a poll. Here are the results:
Based on the responses, staffing firms track multiple items on a monthly basis. That being said, the number of billable hours and number of positions filled are at the top of the list of essential metrics measured.
Surprisingly, staff performance is not as important to staffing companies as other metrics. Could this be due to a lack of automated tools to collect performance feedback? In our last staffing survey, only 31.25% of respondents stated they had an automated tool for staff performance management.
In the “Other” category, responses included:
- Send out to placement ratio
- Number of interviews with clients
- Submittals to the customer
What do you think about these staffing survey results? What else do you track monthly? Shoot us a note and let us know!
